This touchscreen was purchased by a friend of mine at an auction at the company he works for.
I wanted to custom mount it into the entertainment center, so I built a bezel out of old paneling
that I pulled out of the basement during a remodeling project in 2001. I wired the computer power &
reset switches, as well as the power indicator light and hard drive activity light. I also added a
switch to cut the power to the display.
I've also got my Irman infrared receiver hooked up.
I can control Winamp using the VCR remote control. I can also use the remote to control the mouse
cursor (using the directional arrows that were for the VCR menus). Even the power button the remote
is mapped....hitting it shuts the touchscreen and PC off !
I use this system as a TV guide (Yahoo! has TV listings), a weather information center, jukebox,
and for listening to Shoutcast stations
I hope to get an X-10 interface for the PC...then I can use it to control my custom lighting.
